Tsumi to Kai

Started reading the manga Tsumi to Kai. What an absolute masterpiece. I always had the feeling that SM and bondage stuff could be hot in fiction, but no work could quite pull it off like I wanted — until now. But it’s not only that, this manga also has very good writing.

2020-01

Reading again the manga Tsumi to Kai, from the beginning. This reads almost like a horror because the MC is so bad off and the heroine is a total psychopath. I think bondage is one of those things that actually works better in fiction than in real life, because it’s basically about make-believe. You get to use fiction to emphasize the imaginative parts and ignore the gritty reality. There is another S&M manga called Nana to Kaoru which paid a lot of attention to realism and it might be one reason why I prefer this manga to it.

Actually, sometimes I wonder if everything works better in fiction than in reality. Everybody thinks it obvious that real relationships is infinitely better than fictious ones, but there’s so much that a real girl can never be, for better and worse. Ideally you can experience both, but I don’t think people with good taste can ever stop reading manga about cute and sexy girls, no matter who they get to date.

Finished reading Tsumi to Kai. The first volume was the best, but the rest are okay too. I liked how Aoi went yandere, but it happened too quickly and got resolved too quickly(?). Most of the side characters are boring.
