Kids (1995 film)

It’s a film about kids doing drugs and having sex, and paying the price.

Watched the film Kids (1995). I’d say I liked it, although it is a pretty tough watch.

The film had a scene where Video Days, apparently an influential 1991 skateboarding video, was playing. I watched that too and noticed it was shot/directed by Spike Jonze who has made some films I’ve watched recently. It has a very cool ending, with the skaters “dying” after crashing a car while drunk driving. The credits listed their lifespans, ending in the year of publishing the video. Skating is impressive as always. I might say that being a trick based performance art, it’s similar to juggling in some ways, but jugglers don’t have (the guts) to risk their bodies. So juggling will never be as cool as skating.
