The anime adaptation of Akagi is an intense psychological piece of work. You don’t need to know about mahjong to enjoy it.

Reading more Akagi. The Washizu arc is starting in vol 7. As I understand, it’s the final arc but can it really be 30 volumes long?! I guess, because at least /a/ seemed to talk about it in the same vein as the “boat of Berserk” and such famous examples. I suspect the game with Washizu ends sooner, but there is some final ending arc that is not necessarily even about mahjong, like that of Ten.
