ABe (illustrator)

ABe is a graphic artist known for his doujinshi manga Haibane Renmei and for creating character designs for the anime Serial Experiments Lain, Texhnolyze, and some others.

Watched some 15 minute video piece about ABe, the famous illustrator and character designer. To be honest, I never had special respect for him and this didn’t change my opinion. I always saw as it some weird obsession of /a/, really it could have been anyone among dozens of people like him in the industry. And I actually find it kind of insulting to those dozens minus one people like him who never got this kind of recognition. Anyway, I don’t really believe in luck, I do think he did deserve all the fame in some way, I’m just not personally interested even though I happen to like Lain and to some extent Haibane.
